I dedicated this site to the study of Hegel’s philosophy – his Philosophy of Right, the Phenomenology and the Philosophy of Religion in particular.

My name is Robbert Veen, I am a philosopher and theologian, educated at the University of Amsterdam, with a doctorate in Christian Ethics. I am a theologian, Bible scholar, minister for the Protestant Church in the Netherlands and a teacher of theology and philosophy. Hegel is the one philosopher I have studied all of my life.

Hi there! (I hope this is the best way to contact you). I just wanted to thank you for your Hegel podcast- it’s amazing, and perfectly fashioned. Again, thank you for taking the time to do it.

I also wanted to tell you, in case you have a yen for poetry, i’m coming to Hegel after reading Whitman- And what you instantly realize upon reading Hegel is that Whitman is like a poetic rendering of much of his ideas. Indeed, it’s documented that Whitman read, and seemed to much like, Hegel.

Hegel, Einstein, and Whitman- i’ve started to see the three of them as espousing the same grand spiritual idea, voiced three different ways. it’s good company! (can throw Beethoven in there too!).
